Merry Christmas

This year we traveled to Roosevelt Utah, to see the newest addition to our family.
Kris and Julie added another little girl to their family.  Her name is Alexis Ann and she looks more Dickson than any of the others.  I think she was born with the "Dickson" scowl.  Either that or Kris has taught it to her very quickly.  She sleeps a lot still but she is very cute and really is a miracle.  We love her and are grateful for her in our lives.

The other girls are really glad to have a little sister too.  On Sunday Kris blessed Alexis.  Here are some pictures from after church.

It is colder here than we are used to but we are keeping warm from all of the love and happiness that the season brings.  We hope that you are also.  May God's riches blessings bless your lives this coming year.

Kris, Julie, Emilie and Mckenzie in Seattle

Kris and Julie brought their girls, Emilie and McKenzie to see us for week.  They arrived on Friday late at night so they spent Saturday just resting from the long drive.  We went to church on Sunday and went out to see the
Great-Grandparents, Tim's mom and dad.

Tim and I get to see his parents every month but Kris, Julie, Emilie and McKenzie haven't seen them for a few years so it was nice to see them all together.

On Monday we went out to Forks, Washington.  It seems to be the place that all of my recent guests want to see.  Of course most of them have really enjoyed a set of books that are set in this very small town.  I had a great time showing the girls around and taking pictures of them.  The girls loved seeing all of the places that were in the books.  We also had a great time putting our toes in the Pacific Ocean.

On Tuesday we headed down to Point Defiance State Park.  Off to the zoo and aquarium.  We saw everything there was to see and more.

There were seals and polar bears and of course the birds that we fed off of a little stick.  The zoo also has some new additions of tiger cubs.  We had a great day!

On Wednesday we went to the movie together and then rested up for our big day in Seattle on Thursday.  We started out with the Duck tours and then spent the day at the Seattle Center.
The Experience Music Project and SciFi Museum were really fun.

On Friday it was time for our guests to leave but we couldn't let them go until we took some more pictures.

Thanks for coming and come back soon!

Almost done!

The lights are now in.  Here is the one over the table!

This is the one over the sink area.

The tile was sealed and caulked today.  So we only have the baseboards and smoke alarm to put in.  Here is a before and after picture.

Sink, Faucet and Dishwasher

Here is the new sink and faucets.

We finally have a dishwasher!  We have lived here for 25 years and never had a dishwasher.  Now we do!  Tim is still working on getting it running but it should be done today.

Here is a wider view of the whole new kitchen (Rushell).  We are on the home stretch now and should be done soon.  We are really loving it.  We still have one more cabinet door to put on, it has been returned twice now because it was warped but they should get it right soon.  There are new lights that we should get in this weekend too.  They will be the last thing to finish it up.

Here is the floor and countertops!

Here is the Countertop.  The tile went in today.  It hasn't been grouted yet so it still looks a little strange.

The floor looks great!

In fact the whole thing looks great.

The faucet and water gets hooked up tonight hopefully and the dishwasher and lights this weekend.

The Cabinets are in!

So the cabinets were delivered and we were so excited.  We then discovered that they were made from the wrong wood.  So we called the cabinet making guys up and told them to come and get them.  They returned the next day and took them back.  They re-dilvered them the next week.  So Ryan, he is my installer, showed up with his father in tow and they proceeded to install the cabinets last week.
These first two pictures are the empty kitchen.

With the new cabinets and microwave.  The floor and countertops hopefully go in next week.

Remodel update!

We are now in the demolition stage!  What fun.  I took a little trip to Tennessee and while I was gone, Tim started the demolition of the kitchen.  First he took off the panelling and repaired and retextured the walls.  All while trying to be the Bishop, what a guy!  We are now picking out countertops, tile, flooring and paint.  I think we have just about got it though.  Next are some of the appliances, dishwasher, microwave and garbage disposal.  Fun times are being had by all.
